The cuisine of Fernando de Noronha is both tasty and healthy. Owing to the great variety available, fish is the main dish on the menu at the island's wide choice of bars and restaurants.
For a quick lunch, there is a good selection of self-service restaurants with excellent homemade food. Try the delicious dishes at Flamboyant, Ousadia, Edilma and Jacaré restaurants, all in Vila dos Remédios. If you are in Floresta Nova, Restaurante do Biu is a must, whilst Restaurante Tricolor in Três Paus is a homely venue that serves a tasty seafood moqueca and homemade sweets.
Restaurante Marine at Hotel Dolphin offers a varied and delicious lunchtime buffet. On Boldró beach, pay a visit to Paraíso beach restaurant, known for its contemporary Italian cuisine, as well as snacks and drinks, not to mention the wonderful scenery!
In Floresta Nova, Xica da Silva restaurant offers chef's specials at lunchtime and has an elaborate dinner menu. In Vila do Trinta, the Varandão restaurant's speciality is seafood casserole, served in a charming atmosphere. Another restaurant worth a visit is at Pousada Teju-Açu. The restaurant is open daily and is run by the chef Leandro Ricardo from Pernambuco.
After a day on the beach, unforgettable evenings await the visitor. Trattoria di Morena has a cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere. This restaurant offers a wide choice of wines from its chilled cellar to accompany homemade pasta or rissotos.
Visitors can enjoy the best of Brazilian popular music with the singer Márcio Moreno at Restaurante Tom Marrom, which offers traditional island dishes based on seafood, fish and meat.
Pizza lovers should pay a visit to Pizzaria Canto da Massa in Boldró, which also has a delivery service for guesthouses. Enjoy a crepe in the relaxed atmosphere of Creperia Arte & Sabor, which offers a wide variety of sweet and savoury crepes as well as sushi, an internet café and shop.
Don't miss the famous Festival of Cuisine held every Wednesday and Saturday night at Restaurante Zé Maria. Clients are welcomed by the host Zé Maria, who invites them to join him at an enormous table laden with delicious food, which can be enjoyed whilst listening to fisherman's tales and jokes, accompanied by excellent live music.
As you can see, Fernando de Noronha is not only a paradise for nature lovers, but has also become a paradise for lovers of excellent cuisine. The island offers a wide range to suit all tastes and pockets.
